In December 2023, Roastery Coffee House became the first ever Indian coffee chain to open an outlet in Europe. With regular pop-ups hosted and scheduled until March-end, setting the stage for its grand inauguration in Helsinki, Finland, the Indian speciality coffee roaster wants to put Indian coffee on the global map.
“We had access to cafes and good cups of coffee, but with the lockdown, everything changed and people who couldn’t live without drinking coffee were left high and dry,” says Nishant Kumar Sinha, founder and MD, Roastery Coffee House, Banjara Hills. Nishant was flooded with calls from people asking if they could deliver. “Once they bought the beans or ground coffee, they faced issues on how to brew, hence, we started online brewing classes,” says Nishant — New Indian Express
The specialty coffee roaster will become the first Indian coffee chain to enter the Nordic branded coffee shop market with its Helsinki debut in March 2024. Roastery Coffee House will open its first international outlet in Finland in March 2024 – becoming the first Indian coffee chain to launch in the Nordic and only the second to do so in Europe.
Viewed as cultural nodes where like minded people congregate to get creative, the Roastery Coffee Houses across India are embedded in not just local cultures, but also local homes.
