The brand’s manpower has always remained strong because every single person at Roastery treats the brand as their own. They rejoice in the brand’s success and are the best advocates of it.
I was most delighted when one of the serving staff at Hyderabad’s Roastery Coffee House, Banjara Hills, sang praises about the look of the new café at Kokapet. He told the customer, ‘The new place looks so different; the coffee counter resembles a bar counter, and my favourite is the courtyard.
His words carried more weight than what an entire marketing team could have achieved. A brand’s best ambassadors are the ones who work for it and take pride in it. During the COVID-19lockdown, we retained most of our staff. Some chose to leave and go back to their hometowns, while others stuck around. They were ready to work different shifts when the lockdown was relaxed. Each member of our staff is our best ambassador. They are kind, polite, and will never hurry you with your order.
I call my staff my backbone, just as all businesses do. I also take a great deal of pride in telling you that most of my staff, who started working with us, continue to do so. Many of them began as serving staff; now they are cafe managers, baristas, roasters, and so on.
